Description
The story of this sculpture has to do with seeing the finished piece from only one piece of metal. I found an old concrete sanding disk that attaches to a grinder. I saw the piece before I even started. The process was simply finding the other pieces that claimed their place with it to complete the initial understanding. I loved the process. Fox’s have been a part of my life since boyhood. There was a den of them where we would ride our bikes and build our forts in the trails around my home. They were fascinating to me.
The magic that I have always found in nature has drawn me in multiple times. Those moments would stop me in my tracks. Reminding me to show gratitude for the life that surrounds me. Even down to the simplest of details of the multicolor individual hair of their fur. Through this journey, I have found that the pieces that I have created seem to take me back to the moments that brought me wonder and amazement.
